Success for all - nothing less

Year 3

To all 3J parents and Carers,

Hope you are all safe and well. It should be 3Js class assembly on 19th June, so I would like to use the children’s work and photos of themselves on ClassDojo and create some kind of video.

If you are not able to add anything on ClassDojo and want your child to have their photograph of themselves on the video, you can send it to me through the office email address:

office@longshawjunior.blackburn.sch.uk

Please be aware that the video will be posted on ClassDojo, the Longshaw website and Longshaw Facebook page. I will not be adding any children’s names on the video.

I will need your photograph of your child holding some of the work they have done by 1st June 2020 at the latest.

Wednesday 29th April 2020 - Worksheet

Here is your work for the week Year 3. The teachers are looking forward to you posting what you have done on your class dojo portfoli. Dont forget the more you do the more housepoints you will earn.

Ancient Egypt

We are going to start doing our Summer Term topic activities next week. Our new topic is ‘Ancient Egypt’. This week, we would like you to create a folder for your work to go in and decorate the front cover of it with the heading ‘Ancient Egypt’ and pictures related to the topic around the heading. We have created an example for you out of an empty cereal box (See Photographs).  When you have finished your folder send a photo of it and you will be rewarded for with 5 ClassDojo points for your effort. These will be converted into 5 house points when we get back to school.

So, get creative and have fun making it! 😃

From the Year 3 Team

Hello everyone.

Hope you are all well and have had a lovely Easter break.

Now that the holiday is over, home learning starts again. To get you back into your learning we have put together a grid of different tasks, a maths challenge and some work on using inverted commas to be done this week.

You can either text your answers or write them on a piece of paper and send a photograph of your work through ClassDojo. You could even send them through the 2Email or 2Write (see your 2Dos for this option) on Purple Mash.

Don’t forget to log on to your ClassDojo, Bug Club, MyMaths, Purple Mash and TT Rock Stars accounts  during the week. There are lots of things for you to do.

We are looking forward to seeing all your work.

Remember to have fun with your family, as well as working hard on your school work.

Stay safe,

From All the staff in Year 3

Try making some Stone Age jewellery. You could use salt dough, plasticine or even chewy sweets. Whatever you can find that can be threaded on a string or shoe lace will do. Mrs Johnson

You might want to do a picture or painting of Stonehenge instead. Mrs Johnson

Can you recreate Stonehenge? Look at the photos for inspiration. Not sure if you want to use all your food but Lego, building bricks or tins of food might be better. Mrs Johnson

Another activity for you to try. Can you create a picture or model of a mammoth? Here are some photos to inspire you. Good luck! Mrs Johnson
